Coppell Cowboys football showed a balance attack edging out a tough Sachse team 44-41. A game of several momentum swings. Sachse dominated the second quarter 17-6. The Cowboys adjusted and got after both sides of the ball winning the 3rd and 4th quarters: 14-7, 17-14 respectively. A great football battle til the very end, Sachse had a chance at the end of the game to get in field goal range to tie, but Coppell’s defense held strong on a fourth down forcing the change of possession on downs. Leading the way, QB Edward Griffin with 20/31 completion, 251 total yards, and 5 TDs. Xavier Mosley dominated the running game with 14 carries for 56 total yards. Baron Tipton was on the receiving end of 4 TDs with 121 total yards on the night. On the defensive end, Amari'a Wiley contributed a key interception and four tackles. Scott Fishpaw set the tone on defense with 12 tackles. Coppell Cowboys continue at South Grand Prairie Friday September 1.
