Coppell Swim & Dive competed at the annual Dragon Hunt meet on Saturday, October 31, at the Elise Cerami Natatorium in Southlake. The unscored competition gave junior varsity swimmers an opportunity to establish sprint times and compete for relay positions ahead of upcoming championship meets.
Abhinav Agnihotri highlighted Coppell's performances, earning individual gold and bronze honors against a competitive field that included Southlake, Keller, Lewisville, Frisco Reedy, Timber Creek, Burleson, Northwest and other North Texas programs.
Unlike traditional scored meets, Dragon Hunt emphasizes individual improvement and relay preparation. Swimmers compete to improve their sprint times, which help determine relay assignments for championship competition.
The meet also featured its signature rubber chicken tradition. Winners of individual heats received squeaky rubber chickens, while swimmers not competing participated in a chicken dance during the event's rubber chicken relay.
The combination of competitive racing and team traditions made Dragon Hunt a valuable experience for Coppell's developing swimmers as they continue preparing for championship season.
The swim & dive team will be at LISD Westside Aquatic Center on November 05 at 05:00 PM next.
