Coppell Boys Golf finished seventh at the Falcon Fall Invitational on Tuesday, October 27, at Iron Horse Golf Course in North Richland Hills. The Cowboys posted a team score of 325 (+45) in a competitive field led by Keller, Timber Creek and Northwest Nelson.

Sophomore Hayes Shanks led Coppell with a round of 77 (+7), highlighted by an even-par 35 on the front nine. Shanks recorded nine consecutive pars to open his round before encountering difficulties on the back nine, where he finished with a 42. His steady start demonstrated the ability to manage the course and avoid costly mistakes, an important skill as the Cowboys continue their fall season.

Sophomore Kyler Hickman and junior Jack Wilmington each finished with an 81 (+11), providing two important counting scores for Coppell. Hickman recorded a 41 on the front nine before improving to a 40 on the back, while Wilmington delivered a consistent performance with rounds of 40 and 41.

Junior Ethan Khera added an 86 (+16), including a 41 on the back nine, while junior Ryan Walker rounded out Coppell's lineup with an 87 (+17).

Keller captured the team championship with a score of 297 (+17), followed by Timber Creek Purple at 306 (+26) and Northwest Nelson at 310 (+30). Coppell finished 13 strokes behind fifth-place Frisco Wakeland, illustrating the competitive margins separating teams in the field.

The Cowboys' performance highlighted both their potential and the importance of consistency across all 18 holes. Shanks' even-par front nine and the balanced contributions from Hickman and Wilmington provided encouraging signs, while the team's overall score identified opportunities to improve as the season progresses.

With a lineup featuring three juniors and two sophomores, Coppell continues to gain valuable tournament experience while developing the consistency needed to compete against strong North Texas programs.
