Ryan Sewell and Michael Nance entered the Regional Meet with the top marks in the discus and pole vault respectively. They each brought the same grit and tenacity that we have seen from them all year. While things didn't go exactly as planned, and each of them found themselves finishing outside of a top two finish that would have propelled them to the State Meet, the Cowboy fight was alive and well in both of these terrific athletes.

Michael finished 4th in the pole vault while Ryan finished 7th in the discus and 7th in the shot put. Wesley Arnold entered the Regional Meet with the 6th best time in the Region in the 400m run. He would finish 11th overall. Baron Tipton finished 11th overall in the high jump. Matthew Maldima, the only Freshman in the 100m dash field, entered the Regional Meet with the 6th best time. He would go on to qualify for the finals where he finished 6th overall.

Andrew Mullens finished 6th overall in the 3200m run. He ended the season with a season PR of 9:29.84. Perhaps the most gutsy performance of the night belonged to Vedant Bhattacharayya. With 100m left in the 1600m run, Vedant was fighting for a second place finish and a birth to the State Meet. A few seconds later, at the finish line, he would stumble across the finish line in 3rd place. Although it wasn't the desired result he wanted, Vedant would finish the season with a great time of 4:16.29.

We are so very proud of all of our student-athlete this year. They provided us with one of the most memorable, fun and successful track and field season this year. Looking forward to building on this fantastic season next year. Go Cowboys!
