Coppell Tennis improved to 15-0 on Tuesday with a 17-2 road victory over Richardson, continuing its unbeaten start to the season.

Coppell took control in doubles, winning all seven official matches before carrying that advantage into singles.

Steve Jack and Sunny Tupurani turned in one of the most decisive performances of the afternoon, winning No. 3 boys doubles 4-0, 4-0. Kasi Kavali and Ethan Yang won 5-4 (1), 5-3 at No. 1, while Prabhat Pandey and Arnav Ambegaonkar took No. 2 doubles 5-3, 4-2.

The Cowgirls also swept their doubles lines. Anna Hartley and Mihika Modi won 4-1, 4-0; Chloe Ahmad and Anusha Patki won 4-1, 4-2; and Rachel Howe and Ananya Miyapuram won 5-3, 4-1.

Ryan Juramongkol and Madison Fang completed the doubles sweep with one of the closest matches of the day, winning mixed doubles 4-0, 4-5 (7), 10-8.

Coppell’s boys followed by going 6-0 in singles. Jack, Abhijay Mantena, Prathamesh Jaikumar, Leyton Wang and Ambegaonkar won in straight sets, while Pandey rallied for a 2-4, 4-0, 10-7 victory.

The girls won four of six singles matches. Modi, Hartley, Ahmad and Miyapuram each earned victories, including Ahmad’s 4-2, 4-2 win.

The afternoon even included a lighter moment, with the student report noting Richardson players trying to sneak slices of pizza when no one was looking.

Coppell’s JV team also won 7-2, adding another strong result for the program.

The varsity victory moved Coppell to 15-0 and sets up one of its more interesting non-district tests of the fall. The Cowboys and Cowgirls host Lake Travis at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, at the Coppell Tennis Center.
