The Coppell boys varsity golf team is headed to regionals after a strong two-day performance at the District 5-6A Championship at Bear Creek Golf Club in Dallas.
After shooting a 306 on Tuesday, the Cowboys bounced back with a 299 on Wednesday to finish with a 605 overall, good for second place in the district tournament and a spot in the Boys 5-6A Regional Golf Tournament.
Rishab Shroff led the team with a 2-round total of 145, finishing at 1-over par. He improved his score from Tuesday to Wednesday, from 73 to 72.
Several Cowboys improved in the second round to help secure the regional berth. Freshman Rishi Bapna shot a 75 after opening with a 79, finishing at 154 overall. Sophomore Nicolas Brown also fired a 75 in round two after an 82 on Tuesday to finish at 157. Junior Charlie Sauer improved from an 81 to a 77 and ended the tournament at 158, while junior Jack Patton posted a 153 over two rounds.

The Boys 5-6A Regional Golf Tournament is on Monday and Tuesday, April 13-14, at Tangle Ridge Golf Club (Grand Prairie).
