The Coppell Cowgirls earned a gritty 51–48 district win over Flower Mound on Tuesday night, relying on balanced scoring, interior toughness, and late defensive execution to secure the victory.
Coppell leaned on strong play in the paint throughout the night, shooting efficiently on two-point attempts and staying composed in a game that remained tight until the final possession. Lauren VanPelt #0 delivered a strong all-around performance, providing steady scoring inside while anchoring the Cowgirls defensively. Her presence around the basket helped Coppell control key possessions when the margin was slim.
Adriana Reijnen #24 was another major contributor, finishing with 13 points and providing consistency on offense while playing extended minutes. Her ability to finish inside and stay composed under pressure helped Coppell respond whenever Flower Mound made a push.
Avary Campbell #35 added 8 points, giving the Cowgirls a timely scoring spark, while Ashley Hall #2 chipped in 6 points and brought physicality on both ends of the floor. Hall’s defensive effort and rebounding were critical in a game decided by just three points.
Coppell also benefited from strong ball movement, finishing with 16 assists, and stayed disciplined against Flower Mound’s pressure. Defensively, the Cowgirls made several key stops in the final minutes, forcing contested shots and securing rebounds to deny second-chance opportunities.
With the win, Coppell continues to build momentum in district play, showing toughness, balance, and the ability to execute in close games.
