Coppell Cross Country competed Saturday at the 36th annual Coach T-Marcus Invitational at North Lakes Park in Denton, with the Cowboys and Cowgirls racing in a large field across varsity and junior varsity divisions.

Sidharth Kerthipati led Coppell in the Elite Varsity Boys 5K, finishing 11th overall in 15:08. The meet awarded medals to the top 20 finishers in each division, giving Kerthipati one of Coppell’s two individual medals on the day.

Itsuki Peña followed in 72nd at 16:19, with Alesh Khowala 83rd in 16:24, Abishek Suresh 104th in 16:36, Tanish Neelapu 114th in 16:43 and Marco Noyola 143rd in 16:54.

Finleigh Sanders-Burk paced the Cowgirls in the Elite Varsity Girls 5K, placing 62nd in 19:31. Rachel Stumm finished in 20:42, followed by Anusha Patki at 20:50, Mirabelle Sagel at 20:54, Charlotte Baade at 20:55, Bishakha Sinha at 20:56 and Angie Nguyen at 21:02. Coppell’s second through seventh runners finished within a 20-second span.

Coppell added another medal in the Elite JV Boys 5K. Nolan Reeder finished 17th overall in 18:45, while Vihaan Sapkota placed 24th in 18:58 and Noah Law finished 46th in 19:28.

Coppell returns to competition Saturday, Sept. 12, at the McKinney Boyd Bronco Stampede at Myers Park in McKinney. The meet is scheduled to begin at 7 a.m.
