The Coppell Cowgirls returned to the CHS Arena on Tuesday night with defensive intensity, confident ball movement, and balanced contributions, rolling to a 61–33 win over Panther Creek in a wire-to-wire performance.
From the opening tip, Coppell dictated the pace. The Cowgirls built a 20–7 lead after the first quarter, fueled by active hands in passing lanes, quick pushes in transition, and a strong interior presence from 6’4” forward Adriana Reijnen, who controlled the paint with rebounding, shot challenges, and second-chance opportunities.
In the backcourt, Amber Coffey set the tone offensively, connecting from the perimeter and attacking seams to score in the mid-range and at the rim. Coppell’s ability to generate offense off defensive pressure became the story of the first half, as steals and deflections led to consistent fast-break chances and helped extend the lead to 34–12 at halftime.
The Cowgirls kept that momentum rolling early in the third quarter. Ashley Hall opened the half with a corner three, while Nihira Nadgonde provided energy inside as the defensive pressure continued to force turnovers and disrupt Panther Creek’s offensive rhythm.
With the margin stretching beyond 30 points, Coppell’s depth stepped forward. Avery Shortino, Mallory Cooper, Molly Crawford, and Avary Campbell contributed valuable minutes on both ends of the floor, adding rebounds, steals, and transition buckets to close out a complete team effort.
The victory showcases Coppell’s continued growth following a strong performance at the Jack Frost Tournament, where the Cowgirls tested themselves against quality competition and sharpened their defensive identity. That identity was on full display Tuesday night: relentless pressure, fast tempo, and unselfish basketball across all four quarters.
The Cowgirls now turn their attention to their next matchup as momentum continues to build heading toward district play. Friday, December 12th, 05:45 PM at Hebron High School in Carrollton, TX
