After a long, tough season, the Cowgirls fought hard but came up short at the UIL 6A State Championships. All of our Cowgirls won one match, but could not finish on the podium. We will have five returning state qualifiers going into the next season. Time spent on recovery, reflection, and regrowth will be prioritized for next year’s team.
Piper Carrell finishes her high school wrestling career as the second ever 4-time state qualifier in our team history, following the footsteps of her older sister Scout Carrell, 2023 alumna. Senior Brooklyn Branum lives out a true Cinderella story transforming from a volleyball manager into a district champ and region finalist in her one season of wrestling. Our younger Cowgirls - Ishitha Mallidi, Jaylen Hobbs, Hailey Kennedy, and Fallon Silva - are now our future seniors with the huge responsibility of paving the way with their example for our team. Isabella Malcolm, our first ever ninth grade state qualifier since Piper Carrell, is evidence in our middle school program producing champions in the high school pipeline.
