The Cowgirls Varsity soccer team opened district play with a draw against the Hebron Hawks. Hebron was first to get on the board and carried the lead into halftime. The Cowgirls leveled the score on a great goal from Reneta Vargas who collected the ball on the left side of the field before taking a touch in and ripping a shot from roughly 25 yards from goal.
The remainder of the game saw both teams working hard to break the deadlock including a Hebron opportunity in the last five minutes of the game that would have been the game winner if not for a courageous play from goalkeeper Zoe Goodale to rush out and make the save to help seal the point for the Cowgirls.
