The Coppell ISD Athletic Department is shifting to online ticket sales exclusively for the 2020-2021 school year. There will be no cash/credit card ticket sales at CISD athletic venues for both middle school or high school events this year.
The CISD Athletic Department’s priority for in-person attendance of games in 2020-2021 is the parents/guardians of the game night participants, which includes athletes, band, drill team, cheer and student media. With a maximum capacity of each athletic venue at 40% this year to ensure social distancing, events that may reach this capacity will use parent codes that will be shared by each game participant’s coach/sponsor to insure tickets go to these parents/guardians first.
Tickets can be purchased at predetermined windows of time before the day of each athletic event, which will be consistent by sport, at . Tickets can also be purchased online only at the gate of each respective CISD venue by QR code until the 40% venue capacity is reached.
Ticket holders will access your purchased ticket(s) on their personal device, which will be scanned at the gate for entry. Mask/face coverings are required to enter any CISD athletic event. Once inside a CISD Athletic Facility, social distancing and adhering to the no seating signs on specified rows and seats also is required.
No refunds of tickets purchased will be issued for any reason, unless the athletic event is cancelled before it begins.
The athletic department will also live stream every high school contest possible at . The varsity level of all sports will be live streamed this year and every sub-varsity contest possible as well. Non-varsity live stream availability will depend on the number of concurrent contests and student media availability in some cases, and the student media and the athletic department will have ability to cover most games.
See below for specific ticketing information for fall sports.
FOOTBALL
Varsity High School Football
For varsity home games, reserved seating (season tickets) will not be available for the 2020-2021 season. Therefore, all tickets sold on the home and visitor sides of Buddy Echols Stadium will be general admission seating. Two (2) adult tickets will be available to the home team parents/guardians of participants and 2019-2020 season ticket holders on the Monday and Tuesday the week of each home game by access code. After that 48 hour parent and season ticket holder window closes, tickets will go on sale to the public and will remain available until the conclusion of the game or until the 40% capacity of ticket sales are reached.
Tickets will be made available for sale to the general public and visitors on Wednesday with both student and adult tickets available at that time.
The gates for varsity football games will open at 5:30 pm, and access to the 40% of the stadium will be available on a first come, first serve basis. No fans will be allowed on the field at any point before, during, or after the game this season.
Non-Varsity High School Football
For freshmen and Junior Varsity home games, tickets will be available for online purchase the day before the contest (Wednesdays) and will remain on sale throughout the event. For social distancing purposes, ticket sales on the home and visitor side of Buddy Echols will be made available for non-varsity football games this year.
Because of the additional spectator space provided with opening home and visitor sides this year, there is not a capacity maximum concern. No fans will be allowed on the field at any point before, during, or after the game this season
Middle School Football
Tickets will be available for online purchase the day before the event and will remain on sale throughout the event.
While only 40% of the middle school football bleachers will be available, the area outside the track will be available for spectators. We encourage Middle School football game spectators to bring lawn/bag chairs, which can be set up in any area not behind the teams on the sideline (10 yard line to 10 yard line).
Because of the additional space provided outside the bleachers at field level, there will not be a capacity maximum number of spectators. However, we do request that spectators of the first game vacate the premises after the conclusion of the game to maximize square footage for social distancing of the second football game.
VOLLEYBALL
High School Volleyball
Tickets will be available for online purchase the day before the event and will remain on sale throughout the event.
For social distancing purposes, only 40% of all available bleachers will be available in each of our CHS and CHS9 gym facilities. Due to the space in our high school gym facilities, there will not be a capacity maximum concern. However, with non-district volleyball duals being a COVID-19 solution in volleyball scheduling this year, thus involving more teams at a single event, the use of CHS9 for freshmen games will be a reality until we get to the more traditional scheduling, which will resume during district play.
No fans will be allowed on the arena or gym floor at any point before, during, or after the game this season.
Middle School Volleyball
The week of the games, two (2) adult tickets will be available to the home team parents/guardians beginning on Monday (for Thursday games) and on Wednesday (for Saturday games), and that ticket window will remain open for 48 hours. After the first 24 hours of the parent/guardian ticket window, visiting parents/guardians will have a 24 hour window to purchase two (2) adult tickets. After the total 48 hour parent window, tickets will go on sale to the public and will remain available until the conclusion of the game or until the 40% capacity ticket sales are reached.
Parent/guardian ticket sales will be possible with an access code the home team coach will provide to the parents of the participants for the first 24 hour window. That code will be provided to the visitors coach to share with visiting parents for access in the second 24 hour window. If parents would like to purchase additional tickets beyond the 2 adult tickets in the parent window, they will have to wait until after the 48 hour parent window to do so. Tickets will be available for sale to the public on Wednesday for Thursday games and on Friday for Saturday games with both student and adult tickets available at that time.
Students will not be allowed into a gym unless accompanied by an adult, even if the student has a virtual ticket to be scanned on their device.
Online ticket sales for each game in each gym will close once the 40% capacity total has been reached. The purchase of a middle school volleyball game ticket is gym specific this year. At each respective Coppell Middle School, the first game will be played in the main gym, the second game will be played in the auxiliary gym, and the third game will be played again in the main gym. After the conclusion of each volleyball game, the coaches, officials, table workers, and players of the next game will move to the next gym where spectators of the next game will be waiting. Game times will start at their designated time, not immediately following the preceding game. Spectators will vacate the premises after the conclusion of the game for which their ticket was purchased. To accurately account for the UIL required capacity this year, if a spectator would like to attend multiple games (A and B game for example), they will have to purchase a ticket for each game.
Winter and Spring Sports
The CISD Athletic Department will share the plan for winter and spring sports tickets and venue procedures as those seasons approach.
