The Coppell Cowboys picked up a hard-earned district win Tuesday night, defeating Flower Mound 70–65 in a physical, back-and-forth contest.

This was an exciting game. The middle schools were in attendance for middle school night. We had great fans and a cheerful student section. There were dramatic moments that were amplified by their enthusiasm.

Coppell set the tone by attacking the paint and getting to the free-throw line, finishing 27-of-37 from the stripe. That aggressiveness proved decisive late, as the Cowboys converted key free throws while protecting a narrow lead in the final minutes.

Isaiah Fleming delivered one of the most impactful performances of the night, scoring 10 points while recording seven steals. His defensive pressure disrupted Flower Mound’s offense throughout the game and helped Coppell regain momentum during a pivotal third-quarter stretch.

Sibu Socks also finished with 10 points, consistently scoring through contact and providing stability when the game tightened. Jacob Anene added timely fourth-quarter free throws, while Robert Watson contributed eight points and anchored the paint defensively.

Coppell finished with 31 rebounds, limiting second-chance opportunities and forcing tough looks down the stretch. The Cowboys stayed composed defensively in the closing moments, securing stops and controlling the tempo to seal the win.

The next game is on Friday, January 16, at 7:00 PM
at Marcus High School. Marcus boys basketball is a disciplined, physical team that plays at a controlled pace, defends well, and wins by execution rather than flash, making them tough to beat in close district games. It should be a great game.
