The Coppell Cowboys held their Youth Night against the Plano East Panthers. The Cowboys, who were limited with injuries, were unable to win the game in a goalless 0-0 tie. The Plano East Panthers started on the front as they got off a few shots at the start of the match, though many of them were easy pickings to goalkeeper Jacob Campbell. As the first half progressed, the Cowboys began to take over the game. They sent a barrage of crosses and through balls into the Plano East box, but none were capitalized on. Makeshift right back Luis Mendez Gil would seemingly get tripped up by a Plano East defender in the opposing box, but the referee wouldn't blow his whistle. The Cowboys would continue to dominate in the second half but were ultimately unable to break the deadlock. They would have plenty of shots on target, but the Plano East keeper was on top of his game. Forward Mohammed Ouedraogo would have the best chance of the game in a breakaway 1v1, but he would unfortunately sky his shot over the bar. Forward Sam Stone would have a free kick in the final few minutes of the game, but his shot would be saved by the keeper. The Cowboys will be disappointed to have not won this game considering the last time these two teams clashed it also ended in a draw. With that being said, the Cowboys remain in prime contention for the top spot in the district and can reach even closer as they face Hebron next Tuesday.
