 Cowboys hunt down the Panthers 7-1

Visiting the Plano East Panthers the cowboys looked to get their first win after a long streak of ties to be able to put them back into the playoff picture. With the last time playing against the panthers ending in a 1-1 tie the cowboys wanted to prove that they did have the ability to win. Starting off the game strong the cowboys had many opportunities with the first goal being scored by Sophomore forward Luis Mendez in with 12 minutes in the first half receiving a pass from Junior midfielder Sam stone at the edge of the 18 yard box turning through defenders and shooting the ball into the left hand corner of the goal, putting the cowboys up 1-0 going into halftime. Coming out of the first half the cowboys looked to keep their momentum up and finish the second half with a bang. In the first 10 minutes Senior Forward Preston Taylor received a pass from Senior defender Matthew Saucedo on a break away, taking the ball past the defenders and blasting in into the right side netting of the goal, making the score 2-0. A few minutes later forward Luis Mendez ran the ball into the box on a 1v1 with the goalkeeper which was saved, but due harsh words said by the goalkeeper he was quickly handed a red card and sent off of the field. A few minutes following the incident, forward Luis Mendez was given a pass Senior defender Ari Robicheux chipping it over the keeper and putting it in the net. Following the 3rd goal senior forward Preston Taylor received a through ball from forward Luis Mendez and put away the 4th goal. A few minutes later forward Luis Mendez played a ball into Sophomore Forward J Mcgill as the keeper came out to get it he missed giving J the open goal for him to tap the ball giving the cowboys the 5th goal of the game. On another break away Forward Preston Taylor crossed a ball into the back post Where sophomore forward George Petrov was able to head it into the middle giving Luis Mendez his third goal of the game and the 6th goal for the cowboys. Following this the cowboys conceded off of a penalty making the score 6-1. In the last few minutes the cowboys were awarded a penalty, which was taken by Senior midfielder Hugo Zamora, and put away the final goal for the cowboys ending a much needed win 7-1 against the plano east panthers.
