Coppell defeated Lewisville 7-3 on Friday after taking the lead late in the game. The Cowboys trailed 2-1 in the top of the fifth inning when Bradley Castillo doubled on a 2-0 count, scoring two runs.
Coppell knotted the game up at one in the top of the second inning, when Carter Fields doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run. Andrew Nester allowed six hits and three runs over four and two-thirds innings, striking out two and walking one.
Coppell had nine hits in the game. Fields and Nester each managed multiple hits for the Cowboys. Fields went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Coppell in hits.
