Coppell Cowboys Varsity stole the lead late and defeated Hebron 5-4 on Friday. The game was tied at four with Coppell batting in the top of the ninth when Walker Polk singled on a 1-1 count, scoring the go-ahead run.

The Cowboys captured the lead in the second inning with TJ Pompey's 2RBI single.

In the top of the third inning, Coppell tied things up at four when Polk hit a solo homer, his third of the year.

Andrew Nester led things off on the mound for Coppell. The pitcher went five innings, allowing four runs on seven hits, striking out six and walking one.

Coppell Cowboys Varsity tallied nine hits on the day. Polk, Bradley Castillo, and Pompey each managed multiple hits for Coppell. Polk went 4-for-5 at the plate to lead the Cowboys in hits.
