Coppell Cross Country competed Saturday at the McKinney Boyd Bronco Stampede at Myers Park in McKinney, with the Cowboys placing fifth in the Elite Varsity Boys race and the Cowgirls finishing eighth in the Elite Varsity Girls division.

Sidharth Kerthipati led the Cowboys with a 10th-place finish in the Elite Varsity Boys 5K, running 16:01. Alesh Khowala followed in 39th at 16:59, Itsuki Peña finished 43rd in 17:03, Abishek Suresh was 48th in 17:06, and Isaiah Assefa completed Coppell’s scoring five in 53rd at 17:11.

Those five finishes gave Coppell 183 points, placing the Cowboys fifth behind Keller, Prosper Walnut Grove, Lewisville Marcus and Colleyville Heritage.

Finleigh Sanders-Burk paced the Cowgirls in the Elite Varsity Girls race, finishing 37th in 20:38. Mirabelle Sagel followed in 55th at 21:12, Charlotte Baade was 59th in 21:16, Angie Nguyen finished 70th in 21:31, and Avery Arthur placed 75th in 21:35.

Coppell’s Elite Varsity Girls totaled 250 points to finish eighth in the team standings.

In the Open Varsity Boys race, Allan Ramirez led Coppell in 28th with a time of 17:57. Ahan Kothalkar ran 18:15, Colten Karstendiek finished in 18:20, Jose Murillo ran 18:28, and Lukas Stumm completed the scoring five in 18:52. Coppell totaled 230 points.

Shrriya Bedse led Coppell in the Open Varsity Girls race, finishing 75th in 23:29. Avery Fishman followed in 23:38, Hannah Stumm ran 23:39, and Adeline Mendola finished in 23:43.

Vihaan Chodisetti was Coppell’s top JV boys finisher, placing 16th in 19:20. Noah Law followed in 37th at 19:48, with Nikhil Pande running 20:15.

On the JV girls side, Mackenzie Fluornoy led Coppell with a 29th-place finish in 24:18. Sutton Rasmussen ran 26:07, Delanee Mullen finished in 26:15, and Akshara Darisipudi crossed in 26:19.

The Bronco Stampede featured a large North Texas field across varsity, junior varsity and middle school divisions.

Coppell returns to action Thursday, Sept. 17, at the Ray Braswell Invitational. The meet begins at 7 a.m. at North Lakes Park in Denton.
