Coppell Tennis earned an 18-1 home win over Frisco Reedy on Friday, dropping just one official line and controlling the match from doubles through singles.

The Cowboys and Cowgirls swept all seven official doubles matches. Kasi Kavali and Ethan Yang won 8-2 at No. 1 boys doubles, Cody Chow and Ivan Morales won 8-4, and Sunny Tupurani and Steve Jack added an 8-1 victory.

On the girls side, Varsha Sivaprasad and Mihika Modi, Anna Hartley and Gloria Sun, and Rachel Howe and Ananya Miyapuram each won 8-1. Eshaan Reddy and Sofia Rothey faced the closest doubles match of the afternoon and held on for an 8-6 win in mixed doubles.

Coppell carried that advantage into singles. Ethan Yang, Steve Jack, Eshaan Reddy, Cody Chow, Ivan Morales and Abhijay Mantena swept the six boys singles lines.

Anna Hartley, Chloe Ahmad, Madison Fang, Rachel Howe and Sofia Rothey added girls singles wins.

Coppell also picked up extra-match wins from Ryan Juramongkol and Leyton Wang in boys doubles and Madison Fang and Srushti Shelar in girls doubles.

The conditions became more difficult late in doubles play and into the start of singles as strong wind gusts moved through the courts and blew sand onto parts of the playing surface. Coppell stayed in control despite the changing conditions and finished with wins in 18 of the 19 official lines.

Our current record is 12-0.

Coppell returns home Tuesday, Sept. 15, to host Plano West at 4:30 p.m. at the Coppell Tennis Center.
