Coppell boys wrestling delivered a strong team performance at the UIL District 4-6A Championships, finishing second overall and crowning two individual district champions in a deep, competitive field.

Leading the way was Roman Estes at 126 pounds, who dominated his bracket from start to finish. Estes advanced to the finals with a technical fall in the semifinals, then secured the district title with another decisive technical fall victory in the championship match. His run showcased control, pace, and scoring efficiency throughout the tournament.

Max Tatsumi added Coppell’s second district championship at 190 pounds. Tatsumi powered through the semifinals with a fall before continuing his momentum to claim first place, delivering crucial points that helped push Coppell into the runner-up team spot overall.

Coppell also received scoring contributions across multiple weight classes, with several wrestlers advancing deep into their brackets and placing in the top six. The balanced effort across the lineup proved critical in a tightly contested team race, underscoring the program’s depth heading into postseason competition.

With two district champions and a second-place team finish, Coppell enters the next phase of the UIL postseason with momentum and confidence, setting the stage for continued success at the regional level. Regional Championships are this Friday and Saturday at home in the Arena.
