The Coppell Cowboys delivered an impressive all-around performance in a home quad meet on Thursday, turning in strong team results against Wolfforth Frenship, Haltom City Haltom, and Lewisville Marcus.
Coppell opened the evening with a commanding 73–6 victory over Wolfforth Frenship, winning the majority of bouts by fall or technical fall. Pins from Lukas Pate (132), Sebastian Ramos (138), Sehej Mehta (144), Pedro Ibarra (165), Jackson Bright (175), Max Charles Tatsumi (190), and Ethan Pate (215) set the tone early and kept momentum firmly on Coppell’s side throughout the dual.
The Cowboys followed with a 45–32 win over Haltom City, a matchup that featured several competitive bouts but still showcased Coppell’s depth. Notable pins came from Ramos (138), Mehta (144), Liam Gatlin (150), Tatsumi (190), Ethan Pate (215), and Pedro Ibarra (165), while Lukas Pate (132) added another quick fall to swing the dual in Coppell’s favor. Liam Urick (120) earned a technical fall, providing valuable bonus points for the Cowboys.
Coppell dominantly closed the quad with a 71–12 win over Lewisville Marcus, highlighted by multiple forfeits and rapid pins across the lineup. Ryan Potter (175) needed just 28 seconds to secure a fall, while Ramos (138), Mehta (144), Duncan Ross (157), Pedro Ibarra (165), and Owen Olvera (285) all added pins. Tatsumi (190) contributed a decisive technical fall, underscoring Coppell’s control of the meet from start to finish.
Across the quad, Coppell wrestlers consistently earned bonus points and showed balance from the lightest to the heaviest weight classes. The Cowboys’ ability to finish matches early proved decisive, as they recorded numerous falls and technical falls in all three duals.
Coppell will look to carry this momentum forward as they continue district and tournament competition. Next up, Jan 16th & 17th
at the Jesuit Tournament, starting at 6 PM.
