The Cowboys battled to the final possession Friday night but came up just short in a 66–63 loss to Braswell in a tightly contested road matchup.

From the opening tip, Coppell matched Braswell’s physicality and pace, trading runs and refusing to let the game slip away. Neither team built a significant lead, and the contest remained a one- or two-possession game deep into the fourth quarter.

Offensively, Coppell showed balance and composure, with several players stepping up at key moments to answer Braswell’s scoring pushes. Sibu Socks led the Cowboys with a steady scoring presence, consistently creating offense and keeping pressure on the defense throughout the night.

As the game tightened late, Isaiah Fleming delivered timely baskets that helped Coppell stay within striking distance, while Robert Watson made his impact felt on both ends of the floor, providing physical defense and key contributions inside.

Crawford O’Connor helped stabilize the offense down the stretch, facilitating ball movement and making smart decisions under pressure as Coppell pushed for the tying score in the closing minutes.

Defensively, the Cowboys competed on every possession, forcing tough shots and staying disciplined in half-court sets. Braswell was able to capitalize on late opportunities just enough to edge ahead and hold off Coppell’s final push.

Despite the result, the Cowboys’ performance reflected resilience, composure, and continued growth in a challenging road environment. Coppell will look to carry those lessons forward as district play continues, knowing games decided by a single possession often come down to execution in the final moments.

The next game is at home on Jan 13 at 07:00 PM
against Flower Mound.
