Cowboys Fall in Tight Battle at Richardson
The Coppell Cowboys dropped a hard-fought road contest Tuesday night, falling 59–54 to Richardson in a competitive non-conference matchup that featured lead changes and strong defensive play across all four quarters.
Coppell led offensively in the opening period, scoring 16 points in the first quarter to stay neck-and-neck early. After trailing by just three at halftime (32–29), the Cowboys continued to battle throughout the second half, matching Richardson’s tempo with 13 points in the third quarter to keep the margin tight entering the final period. Both teams traded baskets down the stretch, but Richardson closed the final minutes to secure the five-point win.
Despite the result, Coppell showed resilience and poise on the road, competing until the final buzzer. The Cowboys now turn their attention forward as they prepare for upcoming tournament play and continue building consistency early in the season.
