Josh Young
Coach Joshua Young enters his 1st year at Coppell. He currently serves as the Assistant Football- Defensive Tackles and Assistant Baseball. Coach Young brings 9 total years of coaching experience. His past coaching experience includes W.F. Hirschi Co-Defensive Coordinator/Safeties, Boy's Head Track Coach, Assistant Baseball Coach, Kirby Middle School Boy's Coordinator, Middle School Boy's Athletics Coach, and Assistant Baseball Coach. An impressive track of success, Coach Young posts 2021 State Semi-Finalists (football); 2023 State Track Team Relay Finalist (2nd place 4x100m relay); Regional Finalists 2022,2023 (track). Players coached Jamarion Carroll (SMU); Jewel Fletcher (University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff); Jahqaevion King-Fobbs (Oklahoma Panhandle State University); Ahman Williams- Higgins (Paul Quinn University) ; and TJ Johnson (Paul Quinn University).
As an athlete, Coach Young played at Wichita Falls Hirschi- Football WR/CB/S , Basketball , Baseball - Outfield , Track - Sprinter with tremendous accolades including All District Wide Receiver. He went on to Wayland Baptist University earning a Applied Science degree.
Away from coaching, Coach Young enjoys Flying his flight simulator and fun fact, he was in the band from 8th-12th grade and orchestra from 4th-7th grades. His favorite quote, “What's in you, comes out you.”
CISD Athletics is filled with coaches that care. When asked “Why you coach”, Coach Young responded “Sports helped me in my childhood stay out of trouble along with the coaches who were there for me and mentored me. I wanted to be like my favorite coach and be able to give back and help mold and mentor the youth to become better young men. Knowing that I can be a positive influence/role model on kiddos who need it makes me love coaching.”
