Kai Wesemann

Coach Kai Wesemann enters her 3rd year at Coppell. She currently serves as the Honors Algebra 2 Teacher & Volleyball Varsity Assistant and 9A Head Coach. Coach Wesemann brings 3 total years of coaching experience. Her past coaching experience includes Newman Smith High School. She has also coached club volleyball for 6 years. An impressive track of success, Coach Wesemann posts Varsity Assistant during 2022 Volleyball Season playoff qualifiers. In club coaching, she has coaches 2 USAV Junior National Championships and Assistant Coached at 1 USAV Junior National Championship. 

As an athlete, Coach Wesemann played at Pleasant Hill High School in Pleasant Hill, MO on the  Varsity Volleyball & Basketball teams with tremendous accolades including Volleyball State Championship 4th; Volleyball State Championships 2nd;  Volleyball All State Honorable Mention;  Volleyball 2nd Team All State; Volleyball Academic All State; Volleyball Conference & District Champs; Volleyball & Basketball Academic All Conference; Basketball State Championship Elite 8; 1st Team All Conference and All District; Conference & District Champions. She went on to play volleyball, beach volleyball, and basketball at Johnson County Lincoln Memorial University earning a Exercise Science  degree. 

Away from coaching, Coach Wesemann enjoys Time spent with family and friends. Fun fact, she is getting married this December and will be Coach Cothrin. Her favorite quote, “Without struggle there is no progress.”

CISD Athletics is filled with coaches that care. When asked “Why you coach”, Coach Wesemann responded “I coach because I believe that the life lessons and disciplines that are learned through sports are essential skills that help to instill habitual greatness within individuals, some who didn't even know that they had the greatness within themselves. I coach to lead, inspire, and motivate young athletes to use the disciplines learned through sport to impact the world around them and make it a better place.”
