Coppell Swim and Dive competed Friday at the Ranger Relays at the David E. Segal Family Aquatic Center in Dallas, with the Cowgirls finishing 12th with 82 points and the Cowboys placing 10th with 112.

The meet was built entirely around relay events, putting an added emphasis on depth and teamwork across the lineup.

Coppell’s top finish came in the girls 200-yard backstroke relay, where Chloe Chang, Yu Imai, Noriko Clester and Marge Tse placed third with a time of 2:12.15.

On the boys side, Jack Parshall, MJ Holcomb, Idin Feizollahi and Zack Framo finished fifth in the 400-yard medley relay with a time of 3:57.57.

The meet included teams from across the Dallas-Fort Worth area, including Plano West, Plano East, Plano Senior, Highland Park, Southlake Carroll, Bishop Lynch, Jesuit/Ursuline and Richardson Pearce.

One unusual wrinkle came away from the competition pool. The warm-up and cool-down pool at Jesuit had an air-conditioning issue, leaving athletes recovering in unusually warm water between races.

For Coppell, the relay-only format provided a different kind of early-season test and gave the team a chance to build chemistry across multiple event groups.
