Cowgirl Wrestlers Win at Marcus Mayhem

In the final meet of 2023, the Cowgirls head to Marcus where they win the Mayhem. The girls continue to polish skills and strategies gained over the season as they move towards a tough second semester on the road to state duals and the postseason championships. The team line-up continues to grow a notorious reputation of wrestling hard with grit. Marcus Mayhem included teams of Lewisville, Marcus, Flower Mound, Hebron, Keller Timber Creek, Carrollton Creekview, Richardson Berkner, Carrollton Turner, McKinney, and Arlington. Coppell came out on top with 197.5 points, followed by Flower Mound 129.0, Carrollton Creekview 96.0. First place wins from seniors Ava Payne 120, Karissa Godhia 138, and Cassie Bonacci 145. Returning state qualifier Piper Carrell Jr. 126 brings home another gold medal, as well as Fallon Silva So. 235. Annie Reeder Jr. 107, Emma Pehl So. 152, and Anna Lopez Jr. 185 reach finals but fall short in key moments. Sophomores Ishitha Mallidi 114 and Elizbaeth Urick 132 lose semi-finals but wrestle back to win third place. Isha Yeluri Jr. 152 vies for bronze but loses to Flower Mound. Freshmen Elizabeth Cummings 120 and Fiona Erb 132 win their JV divisions. Reece Murry 185 loses a close match in the bronze medal round.
