Coppell Girls Wrestling hosts their annual Cowgirl Classic, taking on multiple district opponents including Lewisville and Little Elm, other big 6A schools, and dominant 5A schools. Despite missing some girls in the line up due to injury or school commitments, our Cowgirls managed to earn yet another dominant win this season. Girls compete on three mats in the Arena, vying for the title of team champion at this renowned varsity event. Over 200 points in team score, 2nd place Little Elm, 3rd Richardson. First place wins for varsity girls Elizabeth Urick 132 So., Karissa Godhia 138 Sr., Cassie Bonacci 145 Sr., Julie Rodriguez 165 Sr., and Anna Lopez 185 Jr. Fallon Silva 235 So. beats Lewisville state qualifier to seize gold. Piper Carrell 126 Jr. battles against Little Elm state finalist and takes second. Isha Yeluri wins the bronze medal. For JV, Jaylen Hobbs 107 So. and Shivani Kaarlapudi 100 Fr. win silver in first varsity meet. Elizabeth Cummings 120 Fr. takes third in first high school varsity meet. Kassie Garcia finishes just shy of the bronze medal. Emma Pehl 165 So. narrowly misses out on third place in tough match. Freshmen girls: Vivian Pargas takes fourth place; Gabby Griffin Fr. takes second against varsity opponents; Gia Mathew and Fiona Erb lose out in bronze medal matches.
