The Coppell cross country team started off strong for their first meet of the season at the Waxahachie Woodhouse XC Invitational. Despite the Texas heat, JV and Varsity boys came in with 1st place and JV girls brought home 3rd place while Varsity girls came in 9th place. Working hard at summer practices has paid off for many runners and new PR’s were set. Pranav Vegiraju improved his 5K time from last season by over 4 minutes this race (15:58). Some notable runs were Henry Henze, (15:21, 2nd Varsity) Jayden Benjamin (16:58, 1st JV) and Maya Easterwood (20:28, 2nd JV). Opponents included Midlothian, Highland Park, Colleyville Heritage.
