After being cancelled, the game between the Coppell Cowboys and the Plano West Wolves was ready to be played on the night of the 25th. The first game of district had arrived and Cowboys soccer was ready to start off district with a bang. The cowboys played as usual with composure and patience, but the wolves were competing well in the first half. Halfway through the first half the cowboys scored a goal by junior midfielder Anson Skorka, but it would eventually be ruled a handball and not count. Going into the second half the cowboys were looking to end the first game strong, but for the majority of the second half the ball was just going back and forth with no end in sight. Then, with seven minutes left in the game, junior forward Gareth Meza received a through ball from senior midfielder Ryder Brock sending him down the right hand touch line on his own sprinting toward the goal. With no defenders in sight Gareth calmly shoots the ball right out of the keepers reach on the right-hand side and puts the Cowboys up 1-0. A few minutes later the game came to a close giving the Cowboys the much deserved win.
