The Coppell tennis team will extend their season by sending their mixed doubles combination of Vinay Patel and Lindsay Patton to the state tournament. The pair has had a stellar season racking up 30 victories to go with only 2 losses. Tuesday they competed in the region 1-6A tournament. They defeated Odessa Permian 6-3, 6-2, El Paso Montwood 6-0, 6-0, and Keller 6-4, 2-6, 6-3 to earn a rematch with district foe Plano West in the finals. Coppell had completed a three set victory over West two weeks ago in the district finals. This time Plano West eked out a victory 5-7, 5-7 and the Cowboys had to settle for runner up.

The pair will return to action on April 26-27 at the state tournament in SanAntonio.
