The Coppell High School tennis team competed in the 6-6A district tournament Wednesday & Thursday. Team members achieved a rare feat by winning every first round match. Three of their entries advanced to the semi-final round.

Sarayu Thallapareddy (Fr) finished 4th Place in girls singles
Rikita Koshimizu (So) & Sayon Nath (So) finished 4th in boys doubles
Lindsay Patton (Jr) & Vinay Patel won the mixed doubles championship

Lindsay and Vinay have had a phenomenal year. They have accumulated 26 wins and only one loss. The duo has won 5 tournaments and finished as the runner up in the other. The only blemish on their record was a close 3-set loss to Clear Springs in the finals of the elite Kemah Boardwalk Tournament.

In the finals of district, Lindsay and Vinay (2-seed) matched up with Goubin and Shannon from Plano West (1-seed). Coppell got off to a slow start digging a 1-6 deficit after the first set. The pair rallied back in the second, and were in control of the match by the third, winning 1-6, 6-4, 6-3.

JV district will take place next Friday at Flower Mound. Our mixed team will be back in action on April 12th-13th at regionals (Arlington Tennis Center).
