With the game tied at one in extra innings, Bradley Castillo executed a safety squeeze on a 1-0 count, scoring the go ahead run.
The Cowboys secured the victory thanks to six total runs in the eighth inning. Coppell tallied seven hits on the day.
Andrew Nester got the start for Coppell Cowboys Varsity. The hurler surrendered one run on four hits over five innings, striking out three and walking zero.
The extra inning win puts the Cowboys 2-0 in district play with the next game being at Plano West on Tuesday, March 22nd.
