Led by two individual Regional Champions, Coppell Wrestling advanced four to the State Championships next week in Houston.
Senior, Maria Husain, maintained her perfect record and improved to 32-0 in winning her first Regional Title. Junior, Scout Carrell, followed her up a few matches later and her first Regional Championship as well. Carrell’s record on the year is 35-2. This will be both girls third trip to the UIL State Championships.
In between the two titles, Freshman, Piper Carrell punched her ticket to State with a fourth place finish.
Tucker Sparks and Ava Payne finished the meet top 8.
For the boys, Sophomore, Cam Girard, battled through 6 matches to place 5th and will go to state as the 160 pound alternate. Simi Socks and Isaiah Francis were both top 8.
The UIL State Championships will be next Friday and Saturday at the Berry Center in Cypress.
