Last night it was a simple for both teams…Cowgirls could lock up a district championship with a win and Flower Mound had to win to make it to playoffs. I’m sure you know by now but The Cowgirls historic season continues as they get a district title. The first time this feat has happened in Coppell since 2010-2011.
Last season ended with a 13-13 record and no playoff appearance. The Cowgirls learned this well, the last ride is never the last ride. And the end is not the end. After having a great offseason entering this season the expectations for The Cowgirls were the same it’s always been…not even being picked to be a playoff team again by TABC polls. Having that chip on our shoulders all season and a it takes what it takes attitude help forge a team that would take The Cowgirls Basketball program to heights it has never seen at the 6A level.
Every team took home a district title last night. We finish the regular season with a program record of 103-7. You heard that right!! We don’t just now have a culture of winning but more importantly we have a culture of doing things right!!! Being first isn’t everything but being the best feels pretty good.
