The tennis team's battle with Plano East Tuesday was the highlight of their season thus far. Coppell started the match Tuesday evening. East came out strong. When the weather forced a stoppage in play, the Cowboys were up 2-1, but were struggling in the four remaining doubles matches. However, when play resumed Wednesday the Coppell players came out with a vengeance. Boys line 1 doubles and mixed mixed doubles fought off multiple match points to win their matches and girls line 3 doubles won in a third set breaker as well. Coppell stole the momentum and cruised through singles only dropping one additional match. The final score was 16-3. Coppell wraps up their regular season next Tuesday at Flower Mound.
