After a rough first day, the Cowgirls sat in 10th place in the team standings, but only 6 shots out of 3rd place after day 1 at the state tournament at Legacy Hills in Georgetown. The girls vaulted up to 4th place on day 2 after shooting the low round of the day 298, 16 strokes better than day 1. Unfortunately we fell one stroke short of 3rd place. The cowgirls were led by senior Chelsea Romas who shot 75,71. She is the first cowgirl to ever shoot under par at the state tournament. Juniors Lauren Rios and Mia Gaboriau had strong outings both shooting 78,75. Senior Jamie Welsh (83,77) and sophomore Rylie Allison (92, 84) rounded out the scoring also showing strong improvement on day 2.
I'm very proud of these girls -they battled hard all year in every tournament.
