Two Pitchers Work Together As Cowboys Defeat Lewisville In Shut-Out
The Coppell Cowboys baseball team defeated Lewisville 7-0 on Tuesday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. The Cowboys secured the victory thanks to four runs in the first inning. The big inning was thanks to a single by Tanner Sever and a home run by Chayton Krauss. They opened up scoring in the first inning, when Krauss homered on a 0-1 count, scoring three runs. Krauss earned the victory on the mound for the Cowboys. The righty went six innings, allowing zero runs on five hits, striking out eight and walking one. Tim Malone threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.
Bradshaw took the loss for Lewisville. The pitcher went three innings, allowing six runs on six hits and striking out three. The Cowboys launched one home run on the day. Krauss went deep in the first inning. The Cowboys racked up seven hits on the day. Ryan Walker and Sever all managed multiple hits. Sever and Walker all had two hits. The defense was sure-handed and no errors were committed. Bradley Castillo made the most plays with nine.
