Coppell Cowgirls Varsity Clinches Lead In Fifth Inning To Defeat Plano East Coppell Cowgirls Varsity stole the lead late and defeated Plano East 18-3 on Tuesday. The game was tied at three with Coppell Cowgirls Varsity batting in the top of the fifth when Reagan Stange homered on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs. Coppell Cowgirls Varsity earned the victory despite allowing Plano East to score three runs in the third inning. Plano East batters contributing to the big inning included #6, #4, and #17, all knocking in runs in the inning. Coppell Cowgirls Varsity got things started in the second inning when Adrianna Erichsen doubled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run. In the top of the fourth inning, Coppell Cowgirls Varsity tied things up at three when ElleBelle Zimmerman doubled on a 3-0 count, scoring one run. Coppell Cowgirls Varsity put up eight runs in the seventh inning. The rally was led by singles by Medleigh Danchak and Dafne Mercado, doubles by Michaella Baker and Baker, a walk by Zimmerman, and an error on a ball put in play by Erichsen. Katherine Miller got the start for Coppell Cowgirls Varsity. The pitcher allowed six hits and three runs over seven innings, striking out seven. #4 led things off in the pitcher's circle for Plano East. The hurler allowed three hits and three runs over four innings. #2 threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen. Coppell Cowgirls Varsity socked two home runs on the day. Miller went deep in the sixth inning. Stange had a long ball in the fifth inning. Coppell Cowgirls Varsity tallied 12 hits. Anabelle Sigman, Baker, Danchak, and Mercado each collected multiple hits for Coppell Cowgirls Varsity. Mercado, Danchak, Baker, and Sigman all had two hits to lead Coppell Cowgirls Varsity.
