Coppell Cowboys Varsity Claims Victory Over Plano In Blow-Out Fashion, 13-4

The Coppell Cowboys dispatched Plano 13-4 on Wednesday.
They tallied three runs in the fifth inning. Bradley Castillo and TJ Pompey all contributed in the big inning with RBIs. Chayton Krauss took the win for Cowboys. The pitcher lasted six innings, allowing eight hits and two runs while striking out 11. Tim Malone threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.
Van Cleve took the loss for Plano. Van Cleve allowed 12 hits and nine runs over four and two-thirds innings, striking out three. The Cowboys tallied one home run on the day. Krauss put one out in the third inning. The Cowboys hammered out 17 hits. Castillo, Krauss, Walker Polk, Ryan Walker, Pompey, and Tony Vernars each racked up multiple hits for the Cowboys. Polk, Krauss, and Castillo each collected three hits to lead the way. Game 2 of the series versus Plano is Friday, March 19, at 7:30 at the CISD Baseball Complex.
