Coppell Cowboys Varsity Defeats Rockwall
Coppell Cowboys weathered a scare by Rockwall in the fourth inning where they coughed up three runs, but Coppell Cowboys Varsity still won 10-5 on Saturday. The Cowboys opened up scoring in the first inning. Walker Polk grounded out, scoring one run.
Coppell Cowboys Varsity put up four runs in the second inning. Coppell Cowboys Varsity scored its runs on a grand slam by Chayton Krauss. Krauss led the Coppell Cowboys Varsity to victory on the hill. The righty allowed five hits and five runs over three and a third innings, striking out one. TJ Pompey and Tony Vernars entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. The Cowboys tallied one home run on the day. Krauss had a dinger in the second inning.
