Coppell Varsity Tennis continued its undefeated start with a 17-2 victory over Centennial High School on August 20 at the Coppell High School Tennis Center. The victory marked Coppell’s first win over Centennial. That was huge for our team!

The Cowboys established control in doubles, winning six of seven official matches. Kasi Kavali and Cody Chow rallied for a 2-4, 4-1, 10-4 victory at No. 1 boys doubles, while Ethan Yang and Ivan Morales and Eshaan Reddy and Prabhat Pandey also earned wins.

On the girls side, Varsha Sivaprasad and Gloria Sun won 4-0, 4-2, while Mihika Modi and Anna Hartley battled back from a first-set loss to win 1-4, 4-0, 12-10. Steve Jack and Palkin Gangwal added a 4-2, 4-0 victory in mixed doubles.

Coppell then dominated singles play, winning 11 of 12 matches.

Several Cowboys came through in tight three-set contests. Ethan Yang rallied for a 3-5, 4-1, 10-8 win, while Cody Chow prevailed 4-2, 2-4, 13-11. Ananya Miyapuram and Anusha Patki each came back from first-set losses to earn 10-8 third-set victories.

Mihika Modi delivered one of the most dominant performances of the day with a 4-0, 4-0 singles victory. Steve Jack, Eshaan Reddy, Ivan Morales Miranda, Abhijay Mantena, Palkin Gangwal, and Anna Hartley also earned straight-set wins.

The team found time for some fun between matches as well, trying a spinning-racquet game that ended with Eshaan Reddy accidentally sending the racquet into Prabhat Pandey’s back.

With the victory, Coppell improves to 7-0 on the season.
