Coppell Volleyball opened the 2026 season with a 3-1 victory over Hockaday on August 11 at the Coppell High School Arena.

Led by Brooke Felix, the Cowgirls put together a balanced offensive performance to secure the season-opening win. Felix finished with a team-high 17 kills, while Finley Penniman added 13 kills and Taylor Mechsner recorded nine.

Zoey Ponsen directed the offense with 42 assists and added three aces. Defensively, Addison Howard led Coppell with 15 digs, followed by Hailey Chew with 14, while Taliah Ellis contributed three blocks.

The victory moves Coppell to 1-0 on the season.

At the subvarsity level, JV fell to Hockaday 2-1, with set scores of 25-22, 21-25 and 17-25. The 9A team fell 2-0, 23-25 and 6-25. Coppell's 9B team faced Richardson and earned a 2-0 victory, 25-17 and 25-11.

The next games this week, August 13-15, will be at the Field House Tournament in Grapevine.
