Coppell Varsity Cowboys were locked in a tight, pitcher-dominated battle but came up
just short in a 2-0 loss to Flower Mound on Tuesday. Zander Montgomery delivered a
strong performance on the mound, striking out eight over five innings and keeping the
game scoreless into the later innings. Flower Mound broke through in the sixth, but
Coppell stayed competitive throughout against solid pitching. Suhoon Cho led the
offense with two hits, and the Cowboys showed discipline and effort on both sides of the
ball in a closely contested game. Coppell will look to bounce back when they face
Flower Mound again on Friday.
