Coppell softball ran into a tough challenge on the road Tuesday night, falling 14-4 to Flower Mound in district play.

The Jaguars set the tone early, scoring six runs in the first inning and adding two more in the second to build a quick lead. Flower Mound stayed in control from there, finishing with 12 hits and handing Coppell its eighth straight loss in the series.

Despite the result, the Cowgirls showed fight at the plate. Courtney Hargrove delivered a strong performance, going 1-for-2 with a home run, two runs scored, and two RBI. Emma Praytor also had a big night offensively, finishing 2-for-3 with a home run and an RBI. Coppell finished with five hits and scored three runs in the fourth before adding another in the sixth.

Lilija Bowen added a hit and a run, while Cecilia Bourque also collected a hit for the Cowgirls. Madison Scott drove in a run as Coppell tried to chip away after the early deficit.

The loss moves Coppell to 12-17-1 on the season. Coppell still has a shot in the playoffs, but the margin is really close.

The Cowgirls will return home Friday for a key district matchup against Marcus, with first pitch set for 7:00 p.m.
