On Friday, March 20th, 2026, the Coppell Cowboys showed resilience after an early deficit but ultimately fell to Guyer 6–2 in district play.
Coppell answered with a rally fueled by four consecutive hits, highlighted by a two-run RBI single from Dillon Slayton that cut the deficit to 4–2 and brought momentum back to the Cowboys’ side.
On the mound, Zander Montgomery settled in after the first inning and kept Coppell within reach, delivering key outs and giving the offense a chance to climb back into the game.
In relief, Aaron Malik worked to bridge innings, while Charles Meyer came in mid-at-bat and delivered a clutch strikeout, stopping a potential Guyer push and keeping the game within reach.
Despite the midgame push, Coppell was unable to generate another scoring surge, while Guyer added insurance runs late to secure the win.
