In a playoff atmosphere fueled by packed stands and an electric student section on both sides, the Coppell Cowboys rose to the moment, defeating Plano East 2–0 to claim the Bi-District Championship.
The match was physical from start to finish, with high intensity and emotion throughout. Multiple yellow cards were issued as both teams battled for control, but when the final whistle sounded, the competition gave way to sportsmanship with handshakes and respect between the sides. This was a clock-stopping game.
Coppell broke through with two key goals, one from Sebastian Duran and another from Ian Wanemba. The Cowboys capitalized on their opportunities and controlled key moments to secure the shutout victory.
Defensively, Coppell held strong under pressure, limiting Plano East’s chances and preserving the clean sheet in a high-stakes environment. Chase and the defenders, like Mo, communicated effectively to stop the Panthers.
With the win, Coppell improves to 15-4 on the season and advances to the Area Round.
The Cowboys will face Lake Highlands in the next round, with the match scheduled for March 23 or 24 at a neutral site. The two teams met earlier this season in non-district play, setting up a highly anticipated rematch with a trip to the next round on the line.
Details on the game location and time will be announced soon.
