Coppell boys soccer played to a hard-fought 0–0 draw against Hebron on Tuesday night at Buddy Echols Field, closing the evening with a defensive showcase during Teacher Appreciation Night.

The match opened with strong energy from both sides as Coppell looked to strike early. Junior midfielder Emmanuel Mendez Gil generated one of the first scoring chances of the night, driving forward for an early attempt that was blocked at the last moment by Hebron’s defense.

As the first half progressed, Coppell senior forward Liam Spiller found multiple opportunities near the goal, including a promising look midway through the half that was stopped by the Hebron goalkeeper before crossing the line. Despite consistent pressure, the Cowboys were unable to convert, and the teams entered halftime locked in a scoreless tie.

Defensively, Coppell remained sharp throughout the night. Goalkeeper Andrew Telling made several key saves under pressure, including stops on free kicks and close-range attempts that preserved the clean sheet. The Cowboys’ back line held firm as Hebron pushed forward, blocking shots near the goal line and limiting second-chance opportunities.

The second half mirrored the first, with both teams trading chances but neither able to break through. Mendez Gil continued to apply pressure with attacking runs, while Spiller nearly capitalized on a foul-set opportunity late in the match that was again denied at the goal line.

With time winding down, Coppell and Hebron continued to battle possession and field position, but the score remained unchanged as the final whistle sounded.
