Jared Owens serves as an Assistant Boys Wrestling Coach and Special Education Inclusion Teacher at Coppell High School. Before joining Coppell, he led boys and girls wrestling programs at Friendswood and Clear Brook High Schools and served as an assistant wrestling coach at W.B. Ray High School.

During his coaching career, Owens has contributed to nine team district championships and a regional championship while guiding 30 wrestlers to the state tournament. Those athletes include 10 state medalists, five finalists, and three state champions. His honors include multiple district Head Coach of the Year and Assistant Coach of the Year awards, along with Region 4-5A Assistant Coach of the Year.

Owens earned his degree in Mild/Moderate Disabilities and Special Education from Southwestern Oklahoma State University. At Elgin High School in Oklahoma, he competed in football, wrestling, baseball, and powerlifting. He was an all-state center in football and an all-state, state-qualifying wrestler.

Owens coaches to influence students beyond the classroom and competition, helping guide them through the challenges they will face in life. Outside of school, he enjoys traveling, hiking, fishing, and golfing. He has also flown an airplane.
