Shelby Kennard
Shelby Kennard serves as an assistant football and baseball coach and teaches U.S. History and World History at Coppell High School. Before joining Coppell, he spent eight years at Creekview High School as an associate head baseball coach and football coach, where he was recognized as a finalist for Assistant Coach of the Year.
Coach Kennard played baseball and football at King High School in Corpus Christi, earning All-District Defensive Player of the Year honors in baseball. He continued his baseball career as a catcher at Brown Mackie College and the University of Nebraska at Kearney.
Kennard earned his bachelor’s degree in History from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, a master’s degree in History from the University of Nebraska at Kearney, and a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from the University of North Texas. He finds the greatest reward in helping athletes pursue their goals and sharing in victories, both large and small. Outside of school, he enjoys cooking meat and reading, and his first name carries a family legacy spanning seven generations.
